As a way of saying sorry, Ubisoft has said all affected customers will receive the Guitarcade Timesaver add on which unlocks all the Rocksmith mini-games. This will be a small consolation to gamers who currently can’t even play the game to enjoy that bonus.
This doesn’t help Ubisoft’s reputation with PC gamers. Only last month they scrapped the need for a constant internet connection when playing a Ubisoft game using the Uplay DRM service.
It’s not known how widespread the problem is or how many customers were affected. Rocksmith activation keys are already being sent out fairly promptly, so if yours is missing it shouldn’t take too long to get a new one at least. This is a fairly big mistake for Ubisoft to make though, and it’s a kick in the teeth to anyone who pre-ordered the game and wasn’t able to play it on the day of release.
